The Normal labour and delivery page has been updated with a correction indicating that an IUD can be inserted at any time in the post partum period, not after 6 weeks as previously stated. Thanks Erinn for picking this up.
The Adrenal insufficiency page has been updated, including changes to reflect that Addison’s disease can refer to all forms of primary adrenal insufficiency, not just auto-immune mediated disease. Thanks to Michael for picking this up.
The Definition of AMI page has been corrected to indicate that ST elevation of 2.5mm or more in V 2-3 is required to be abnormal in men < 40 years of age – not in men > 40 years of age and in women as previously stated.
The Abnormal intrathoracic gas page has been updated, including removing traumatic causes from the section on primary pneumothorax. Thanks to Farzad for picking this up.
The Blood gas analysis page has been corrected to indicate that venous HCO3 is higher than arterial HCO3 (by about 1.7 mmol/L) – this was incorrect on one part of the page and correct in another.
The Microcytic anaemia page has been corrected so the total body iron store replacement dose is now correct. It is: Total body iron deficit (mg) = body weight (kg) x (target Hb – actual Hb in g/L) x 0.24 + 500 mg For patients > 35 kg body weight.
The Abnormal eye movements page has been corrected to show that CN IV (Trochlear) palsy causes vertical diplopia and CN VI (Abducens) palsy causes horizontal diplopia – not the other way round as previously described. Thanks to Ben for picking up our confusion with Roman numerals.
The Inhalational anaesthetic agents page has been corrected so the MAC value of N2O is now shown as 102 instead of 1.02 as previously stated. Thanks to Luke for picking this up.
The Spontaneous bacterial peritonitis page has been corrected to state that SBP is rare in patients with SAAG < 11g/L, not >11g/L as previously stated. Thanks to Simon for picking this up.
The Thrombolytic therapy in stroke page has been corrected to reflect that thrombolytic therapy is indicated with an ASPECTS score of 8 or more, not 7 or more as previously stated. Thanks to Ker for picking this up.
The treatment algorithm on the Gout and pseudogout page has been corrected to show that gout crystals are negatively birefringent, not positively birefringent as previously shown. Thanks to Ming for picking this up.
The Electrical cardioversion page has been corrected to indicate that transthoracic impedance is decreased by expiration not by inspiration as previously stated. Thanks to Simon for picking this up and letting us know.
The Burn depth assessment algorithm on the Burn wounds page has been updated to indicate that the Nikolsky sign is absent in epidermal burns and present in partial thickness burns. Previously the algorithm mistakenly indicated the opposite. Thanks to Jess for picking this up.
The AF reversion options flowchart has been corrected to indicate that amiodarone should be given if there is IHD, structural heart disease or age > 55 years. Previously it indicated that it should not be given in these patients. Thanks to Sally for picking this up.
The Paediatric dose and equipment calculator has been updated and the initial IN fentanyl dose corrected from 2mg/kg to 1.5microg/kg. Thanks to Andreas for picking this error up.
The image of the bones of the upper cervical spine on the Spinal injuries page has been updated so that C1 and C2 are now labelled correctly. Previously C1 was mis-labelled as C2 and vice versa. Thanks to Ming for spotting this.
The Post partum haemorrhage page has been updated with the correct dose of misoprostol for PPH – is is 1000 microgams PR not 1000 milligrams, as previously stated. Thanks to Jing Yan for picking this up.
