Updates
Hypoparathyroidism
The Hypocalcaemia page has had some minor updates, mostly relating to the causes of hypoparathyroidism.
Tetracyclines and bone deposition
The Tetracyclines page has been updated, including information about the lack of association of dental and bone abnormalities with tetracycline use in young children.
Myasthenia gravis
The Myasthenia gravis page has been updated with some additional information about the different forms of the disease.
Thrombocytosis
The Thrombocytosis page has had some minor updates.
Cessation of CPR
The Advanced cardiac life support page has been updated to indicate that an unwitnessed arrest with a non-shockable rhythm and age > 80 years is associated with a very low likelihood of survival to hospital discharge.
Giant cell arteritis
Some minor updates and reorganisation of the Giant cell arteritis page have been made.
Acute haemorrhagic oedema of infancy
A segment on the rare condition, Acute haemorrhagic oedema of infancy has been added to the Other inflammatory conditions page.
Metformin
The Other hypoglycaemic agents page has been updated to downplay the association between metformin and lactic acidosis and some other updates.
Anxiety instead of anaphylaxis or angioedema
The Anaphylaxis page has been updated with additional information about how to differentiate anxiety from anaphylaxis or angioedema. This is particularly important as a significant proportion of younger patients who present with ‘impending allergic airway obstruction’ are actually suffering from anxiety. The use of adrenaline (and icatabant) does not help anxiety.
Pituitary adenomas
The Pituitary disease page has been updated with additional information about pituitary adenomas.
Corticosteriods
A specific segment on corticosteriods has been added to the Immunosuppressants page.

A short segment on corticosteriod psychosis has been added to the Immunosuppressants page
Ureteric calculi spontaneous passage rates
The Ureteric calculi page has been updated with additional information about spontaneous passage rates according to calculus size.
RBBB as a STEMI mimic
The ECG in ACS page has been updated with a short segment on RBBB as a STEMI mimic.
MRI safety
The Magnetic resonance imaging page has been significantly revised, particularly regarding MRI safety.
Propofol and egg/soy allergy
The Induction agents page has been updated to indicated that egg or soy allergy are no longer considered contra-indications for the administration of propofol. Thanks to Alan for the tip.
Ureteric calculi prevention
The Ureteric calculi page has been updated, emphasising that calculus prevention measures depend on the calculus type, and that the provision of dietary advice from the ED is rarely appropriate.
Dental emergencies
Some minor updates have been made to the segments on dental anaesthesia and bleeding tooth sockets on the Dental emergencies page.
Complications of PEG tubes
The Gastrointestinal devices page has been updated with additional information about complications of PEG/PEJ tubes.
