BRUE – the new ALTE

The Sudden infant death syndrome page has been updated with information about BRUE (Brief resolved unexplained event), the new American Academy of Pediatrics definition replacing ALTE. Trochanteric sling

The Management of pelvic trauma page has been updated with the term pelvic sling/binder being replaced with the term trochanteric sling, representing the correct position of the sling for the management of pelvic fractures.

Examination of suspected pelvic fracture

The Assessment of pelvic trauma page has been updated with revised information about the physical examination – in particular emphasising that pelvic springing should not be performed in patients suspected of unstable pelvic fractures due to the risk of causing further bleeding.
