IV steroids in severe CAP
The Management of CAP page has been updated with some information about the use of IV steroids in a selected population of patients with severe CAP. Bottom line is – sounds interesting, but not enough evidence currently to change practice.

EXTEND 1A Stroke trial
The Stroke Management, Thrombolytic therapy in stroke and Investigation of stroke pages have been updated following publication of the EXTEND 1A trial in the NEJM today showing substantial benefit for endovascular intervention following tPA in patients selected by CT perfusion to be likely to have benefit.
Ebola investigations
The Viral haemorrhagic fevers page has been updated with some additional investigations that should usually be performed in a patient suspected of having Ebola.
Fat embolism mortality rate correction
The Non thrombotic embolism page has been updated, but more importantly the error that stated that fat embolism is associated with a high mortality rate has been corrected. It is usually associated with a low mortality rate.
