Some minor changes have been made to the segment on Sgarbossa criteria in LBBB and VPR on the ECG in ACS page.
The Investigations in PE – non imaging page has been updated with additional information about ECG features associated with a higher risk of shock.
The Cardiac tamponade page has been updated with additional information about the echocardiographic features of tamponade.
The Troponins in ACS page has been updated with additional information about the rate of elevation of troponin in ED (and other hospital) populations in patients without ACS.
The Management of heart failure page has been updated, including additional information about the use of diuretics in heart failure.
The Management of PE page has been updated with a new flowchart that corrects an error in the previous chart and simplifies things as well!
The Syncope page has been updated, including additional information about assessment and the lack of utility of serum troponin in unselected cases.
The ECG in ACS page has been updated, including some minor additions to the segment on upright T wave in V1.
The ECG in acute coronary syndromes page has had a few minor updates to re-emphasise the lack of specificity of ST elevation in aVR for proximal LAD occlusion in the absence of other typical features.
The Cardiac tumours page has been updated, including some additional information about tumour types and frequencies.
The Thoracic aortic dissection page has been updated, including more information about the management of acute aortic ulcers.
2 images of a peri-aortic haematoma due to an aortic ulcer have been added to the Thoracic aortic dissection page.
The Definition of AMI page has been corrected to indicate that ST elevation of 2.5mm or more in V 2-3 is required to be abnormal in men < 40 years of age – not in men > 40 years of age and in women as previously stated.
The ECG in ACS page has been updated, including additional information about the diagnostic yield from repeat ECGs.
The Clinical assessment of ACS page has had a number of minor improvements, including a better description of the role of clinical assessment.
The Thoracic aortic dissection page has been updated, including additional information about the prognosis of aortic dissection.
The Definition of AMI page has been updated with the 2018 definition of MI – importantly including new ECG criteria for STEMI that differ according to the leads used, age and gender of the patient.
The Risk stratification in ACS page has been updated, including a short segment outlining the issues with using risk scores in association with hsTn.
The Pericarditis page has been updated, including with a segment on disposition. Thanks to Farzad for the suggestion.
The Cardiomyopathy page has been updated with a few additions to the segment on HOCM.
